Shorted alternator, ticking/rattle noise
Hey fellas,
I'll start this by saying I'm an idiot. I split up a job over two days and forgot I had re-hooked up the battery. When re-installing the alternator I accidentally shorted it out when maneuvering it into place. After removing it again to unhook the battery I noticed there is a little clicking/popping noise coming from the alternator. Not when you hold it still and rotate it, only when you kind of move it around to orient it. I know I need to get it tested...but does it sound like I fried it?
Thanks gents!
