Speakers: Boss Phantom Series?
Anyone have experience with Boss Phantom Speakers?
They have 6.5" with 400 watts peak. About $50 for a pair.
I've seen a lot of members talk about Sony Xplods for about the same
price, however, they are 270 watts peak.
feedback is appreciated - thanks.

I would personally go for either some kickers, or if you do not have the money, go for the sonys, because I bought some 1000 watt 6x9's for $40 and they were the crappiest speaker I ever owned. but to each his own.

Boss is complete junk, sony is semi junk, kicker is hype.
Look into Polk if your strapped for cash, or Ascendant Audio if you dont mind spending a pretty penny.

I don't have any experience with their speakers, but i have a BOSS 1200 watt amp that more than takes care of the powerbass extreme 10's in the back of my XJ.
i have however had good luck with poweracoustik speakers. i know of at least 3 other people that have them and i've got a few different pairs from my various rigs and they have all performed very well.
you don't have to buy "brand name" to get good working equipment.

boss lies about their output by about 380 watts.
sony would be better even know there not great.
Rockford, apine, polk.. along those lines would be a much better option for a little bit more more money

Boss parts arent that great. Dont worry about the watts just get well made speakers, good sounding speakers. High wattage cheap brands might be loud but sound like s***. Theres plenty of better speakers for around that price. I have memphis 6.5" speakers, sub, and amp, a little more expensive but sound great.
