today on my way to work my two front door panel speakers stopped working on my 2000 xj. no popping, static, or anything. they just shut off. i pulled my stereo and made sure everything was connected and snug. i also checked the fuses but the only one i could find was for the whole radio.
i'm not very good with electrical so any help and advise would be appreciated

MOD EDIT: my computer is spazing! i just wrote a poaragraph on this and it went away!!!! no!!! so, yea, im gonna shorten it this time: your wiring harness by your feet, or your stock head unit is to blame. try jiggling the wiring harness by your feet first, then throw a diff. head unit in.
when i got my jeep, the stock head unit wasnt pushing the front two. put my pioneer unit in and they work great. on occasion, the fronts will cut out. literally, all i have to do is open the drivers door and they come back to life...

i agree. run some new speaker wires to the front 2 speakers. Same thing happened to mine (and to most xj's), with some better longer wires youll probably never have the problem again. I havnt ever since rewiring.
