Does speaker wire cause any heat.
I put new speakers in the sound bar and ran the same connections with a few mods.
I made the double negs and double positives into a single neg and pos then reused the same connection points.
I don't want to catch on fire while im driving.
Sorry about the question.

Depending on the stereo (Head unit) most hi power units need their own ground/Positive to each speaker or you can damage the head unit but they should not produce heat unless your running BIG AMPS...Tj

By doing that he bridged the connection, therefore deacreasing the impedance, the headunit was not meant to run at that certain Ohm load. Put it back to normal.

Every speaker should have it's own positive and negative connection. If you are using aftermarket (not stock) speakers, the ohm load may be different. If you are using and aftermarket (not stock) head unit (radio, stereo, cd player... ) then the ohm loads, grounds, and or other wires may be different.
If you have changed your speakers and head unit, don't use the factory wires if you don't know how the factory ran them or for what load, power or ground situation the factory ran them. New stereo stuff, use new wires. Safest bet.
