Default Speaker problem!

I have a 98 xj with standard sound system. My rear speakers will not work. If i hit a bump, they will come on then shut off. They are not blown, they just aren't getting power. I have an aftermarket head unit with the stock amp still attached. Is this an amp problem or a wiring connection. If it is the amp, can i bypass it? the amp number is 56007653ac 36670 if that helps. Or how can i figure out the problem? I do not know stereos very well. Thanks.

I'm not an audio guru by any means, but that sounds like a loose connection or bad ground.

Probably have a broken wire or a loose connection, your gonna have to start from the head unit, pull it out of the dash and turn it in, hit the dash hard enough like a bump would, if not there, then open up where the speakers are and check the plugs and wires, have a fuse or 2 on hand on case you ground out a wire

Just run a new wire from the headunit to the rear. Simple as that

Have you pulled the speakers out to make sure the wires have a good connection to the terminals on the speaker?

yes. I was not getting power to the speakers. I ended up pulling the amp connecters and bypassing the amp on the speakers that werent working. They worked then. But when i went to bypass the last speaker (Rear Left) my headunit said there was a miswiring. So i think the wiring to that speaker may be bad. I am just going to rewire to that speaker and bypass the bad amp completely. Thanks guys
