My advise, there is no right answer. All Jeeps and ears are different. Go to a stereo shop and listen to some. Buy the speaker that sounds the best at the lowest volume, with the highest RMS wattage.

none of those are going to put out much of any bass at all. plus u need an amp to run them if you want them to sound good. your deck isn't made to run enough power to make those sound good. unless u want wimpy volume. those aren't made for bass, u have to get up to 6x9's and u cant get cheap or the bass wont be good at all. i have 4 infinity 5 1/4 reference series speakers and 2 12 inch JL audio subs. best system ever heard.....2 rockford fosgate amps as well.. one for subs one for speakers.

alot of people say that but it is a load of BS. a speaker is a speaker. i was told that 10 inch subs were made for rock music and 12's were made for RAP. that is not true. speaker preference is how u want it to be heard, some speakers are made for lower sounds so u get a more throaty sound. i got my infinitys because they have highs and just a little mid. i get my bass from my subs. the system i put in is so loud it will give you a migrain, i can hear it clear as day from a 1/4 mile away. its a competition stereo. if u want overall really clear crisp loud sound, i would go with the infinity reference speakers. they have no bass at all but they sound amazing for how much they are. they have a pretty massive tweeter for the highs. but to make it sound that good you have to have an amplifier running the speakers, if u run it off the deck it will distort when your trying to "rock". its all on what speakers and the amp u run. do u want a link to the infinity speakers and amp i have running mine?

I would have loved to have bought the component infinity system but i didn't have that extra 500 bucks at the time and didn't feel like modifying the doors and everything. Component systems are the best way to go, Infinity, rockford fosgate, alpine, BOSE, Kicker,k kenwood, all have great component systems, they just cost alot more to make them work correctly. This stuff isn't cheap, i try and put the best of the best when im buying stuff. this is my 3rd system in my jeep. first time the entire Jeep was stolen and found a week later stripped, second i left my tailgate unlocked and woke up to find nothing in my trunk or deck. i'm on my 3rd and now have a VIPER security system installed on the Jeep. best thing i've done yet....

I'm running Alpine Type-R's, a Kenwood deck, and a 12" Extreme sub with a 300W amp. I listen to a lot of metal primarily with some rap on certain occasions, and they work fine for me.

I have 5.25's in the front doors (1" tweeters under front dash, running in series off the door speakers). 6x9's in the rear hatch (they fit, you have to open the holes up). 10" sub in the rear passenger side pocket. 1400 watt, 5 channel amp under the rear seat, powering all the speakers. All looks like a factory job. And makes it, less likely to be stolen. Speakers are all Rockford-Fosgate, The amp is a Pyle, And the head unit is a Pioneer DEH-90HHD. The amp runs off the battery, the head unit runs off the fuse box. It did take me three afternoons to do this. But it looks good, I don't have speaker boxes in back, (taking up cargo space). And it sounds like a concert hall! Take your time, do a good job, It's worth it! Good luck to you! JMO!
