Sparkplugs stripped? >.< CRAP!!!
Sounds like a vacuum line is leaking somewhere. Hard to chase down, follow all the little plastic lines with rubber fittings on them and make sure they are all hooked into a nipple somewhere. If they are the original shaped lines it should be pretty obvious where they should fit. If it is like mine and the plastic lines are brittle and breaking, it may be a little harder. I had to go thru and start replacing mine. Still a work in progress as I find more leaks. Ill look later and see if I can find a pic of proper routing.

pull all the plugs.. look at them... gap them... .035.. i think it is... and check at night look under hood with it running in the dark.. look for spark plug wires arcing...
take your time and ask as many dumb questions as you need to... its the only way you will learn.. and only dumb questions are the ones you never ask...
You have to learn sometime.. :}
also look at the vacum hose that goes on the heater control valve.. make sure you did not knock it off...

I had to remove the hoses from hte air filter box. And the small one on the left the rubber is crumbling away. Im sure theres ALOT of hoses that need replacing. Also noticed last night that theres an anti freeze leak from a hose on the thermostat housing.
Im also pretty sure i dont have a heater core. Theres 2 hoses coming out of the firewall that look like theyve been chopped off and a smaller gray wire with the letters BCM on the plug. It was like that when i bought it. Going to need a heater asap before the 30 below zero temps come.

Hi
You need this kit and it can be done with the head in place just put plenty of grease on the drill and tap to catch the swarf!

Yes i have no mechanical experience... But im trying to learn so pleae take it easy on me. I dont think the threads on the block were damaged. The new plugs second set went in just fine when i used the advice about starting them by hand and then tightening them in. Im going to pull the plugs again tomorrow to make sure i didnt damage any of the other ones. Would using 2 different types of plugs cause this?
As to the different plugs causing damage......possible, but not probable. Just check them when you get them out. Look for damage to the gap area of the plug. The biggest issue is if they gave you plugs that were too long in the threading. But that would be a major mistake on their part.
Autolite! Champion! Autolite@Champion spark plugs are the way to go. I have plain ol Autolites in my two 84z, my 87, 96 and 99. Ive seen Bosch +4 Platinum and Iridiums ceramic insulator blow up. No problems with stock Champions or Autolites ever.

If you have to look for a vacume leak...then try a can of carb cleaner. You can spray it on each of your vacume lines. If you spray on and the miss goes away...then that is your culprit.
Good luck.

check for vacuum leaks but next time you do plugs get a small piece of wildshield washer hose insert the spark plug and start hand tightening use this for the hard to get at plugs then when plugs are getting seated pull hose off of course

If you truly have screwed the head, you can install Heli-Coils...but you better have someone do them that knows how - they require some finesse but they work very well. I've heard that some race engines use them right from the get-go.

Thanks for the coils comment. Sounds interesting ill go look them up. I think im good though. Gonna start looking for the vaccume leaks after i get a muffler on. And yes i changed the air filter. The old one was black and covered in grease. There was a dead snake and a bunch of dead dragonflys at the bottom of the air filter box.
