Default Source for Weather Pack (or whatever they are) Seals

Anybody have a source for the silicone seals that go in Jeep electronics connectors? Just about any pigtail I remove, the associated 3 rib seal/gasket is swollen enough to be nearly impossible to get the connector back together.

The link that vroomvroom posted is actually a Molex silicone gasket for connectors. It just looks different when it is not stretched over the connector. It is probably what you are your looking for.

Here is a kit on amazon:

No, what he showed does not match what I posted even if it could stretch out to several of its own diameters. If you guys have seals in your factory electrical systems like that then my 1996 xj is significantly different than yours.

The one pictured is out and in my tool box. Will try to post a better pic of it later.

If you google Del City, they sell all types of connectors. You will have to do some research but its possible you will find it.

Here is but one example of the type of gaskets used in the electrical harness connectors throughout a 1996 XJ.

The gray thing with three ribs is the gasket I have on the O2 sensor harnesses. The socket is a 3/8" for scale. The screwdriver is a shorty P1 for scale. The other gaskets are different colors, different shapes, and roughly the same thickness, give or take.

Understood. Yeah, that one you provided additional pictures of is a different beast. I have a 96 (late year edition) and it has plenty of the molex style gaskets (like shown in the link we discussed). But the gray one you have shown is something else.

Molex-ish style *sockets* are all over the place, but whenever anybody shows something with gaskets, even one of those $200 kits, those are not even close to the same gaskets.

Agreed. I just did some searching for "connector seals" (and various other keyword combos) and I found all sorts of gaskets and seals (molex and otherwise), and none of them were a close fit for what you have shown. If the goal is to repair a damaged one, is the option of using 3 o-rings of a certain thickness to create a weather-tight seal an option?

I have been following this thread and poking around but have not come up with anything.
I thought of the O-ring idea but also wondered if some of the square ones I did find would
change shape enough if put on a circular connector.

Even Car Wizard calls this type of gasket "weather pack" and says they are green, but he is working on a non-MOPAR (Tip 5). Delphi migh be something over there, but it doesn't match what is on my Jeep.

Those Deutsch seals are closely similar, but that is a particular brand that I don't think MOPAR is using either.

An the goal is to replace the swollen seals that require excessive force to get the connector to seat and lock properly. Most are "damaged" only in the sense that they are swollen, but still pliable.

The one I showed in the pictures was swollen to the point it would not allow the O2 sensor pigtail to connect or lock. I had to seal that one with Permatex Gray #2.

This looks close, maybe even right. Now for just the gaskets.
