Default sounds like bricks in the dyer with a load of towels..

it sounds like its coming from the tansfercase... but not sure. it only happens when starting (have a bad cooland temp sensor, so it takes a little more cranking than usual) and when accelerating from a dead stop. any idea what it may be?

upon inspecting things, i think that we have ruled out the possibility of a stretched chain. the thing that is really throwing us off is that it thuds when the engine is cranking.. we have now moved on to believe that it may be the transfer case shifter. any ideas?
