Default Soundbar questions

To take the soundbar off do I need to cut the circle clips holding it up? Not the post, but the clips.

To replace the speakers do I drill these out? Do they come off from behind once the soundbar is off?

I want to put 6.5" speakers in since I have a set laying around. Is this possible or do I need to fab up mounts for them to work?

Yes you need to remove those 2 clip/retainers on the posts you show.. As for the speakers I don't know but ones you lower it down should be able to see what needs to be done.. If it has to be drilled out no biggy you are going to install 6.5" speakers and will have to relocate the mounts anyways..

Removal procedure I found..
- Remove lens from cargo lamp housing.
- Remove screws securing left and right rear side
roof rail garnish moldings.
- Remove left and right rear side roof rail garnish
moldings.
- Remove 2 push-on retainers from pins inside
cargo lamp housing securing sound bar to rear roof
bow.
- Lower sound bar from roof area and remove
from vehicle.
- Reverse removal procedures to install. Use 2
new push-on retainers.

Alright... I have managed to mangle my soundbar and the 6.5"s! I do have sound though!
I have confirmed that I should never touch anything on the inside of a vehicle once again.

I removed the soundbar. There is NO bracket to attach the speakers. They are held in place by the push pin things in the picture. I drilled them out since I couldnt pop them out.

figured I would just use the dremel to enlarge the holes to accomodate the 6.5"s and then just screw into the fiberglass and throw the grills back on. No, that would be way too easy.

Left side first.
I enlarge the hole. I sink the screws, I wire it up.

Right side.
I enlarge the hole.
I attempt to sink the screws, realizing I made the hole oblong and too large in spots.
I realize that both surrounds are coming off the speakers.
I remove both speakers and toss them on the floor.
I remember I put 6.5"s up front and they arent wired up! Ill take those out and throw them in the soundbar since I have it chopped up.
I take out the first one. 5.25"! You have to be ****ting me!

I use epoxy to attach the surrounds back to the chassis of the speaker on the 6.5"s. I remount them and the soundbar.

I now have a soundbar that has rips all over the it along with grease marks.
I have no speakers in the front doors.
I have epoxy all over my fingers.
I have epoxy everywhere.
I have no grills on the speakers.

I DO have sound though. And it sounds a ton better then the oem 5.25" that didnt have any surround on them at all.

I of course did not take a single picture. It would only confirm that I really did do a hack job. Also, had I took my time I would have realized I had 5.25"s right up front and wouldnt have had near the hack job I have now. Way to ****ing go.

If you can push the centers out or drill them out, then yes.

What do you mean by the centers? I was going to cut off the little black tabs that are on the stock ones, take them out, and put new ones in, and screw them in... right? does that work?

That will work.

The black things are push pins.
Similar to these. Different style, same function.
