This is more a general sound question not just necessarily for Jeeps.
I'm ordering some stuff for my sound system and I have gotten the general feeling that parts from different brands still work together.
For example, I plan on running the following
1. Pioneer Headunit
2. Kicker Speakers
3. Kicker Subwoofer
4. Boss Mono Amp
5. Boss 4-channel
In general I feel that these should work together as all audio uses the same type of connections. Anyone know otherwise?
Thanks,
Jon

Should all work but why run more high end head unit and speakers and junk amps? your not going to get clean power out of the ams and it will kill sound quality.

I have always like Alpine gear, along with older model Rockford amps.
I am currently using a Sound Ordnance amp to power an Alpine Type S sub. Amp was cheap, had great reviews and I have never had probems with it. Would by another one if it wasnt for a deal I am getting on an older Rockford unit I am getting from a friend to start my jeep build

there is a local audio shop that has a bunch of boss products....they arent bad, i have listened to them before, one guy that worked there was running one 12 in a 3.4 cubic foot ported box, boss amp that was rated at 800 watts RMS and around 1500-1800 max on the amp (not that the max power matters all that much, its the rms thats important) and the sub was an audiopipe that was rated at 750 rms, and i think 1800 max, and he was pushing 124 d.b's in his car a week after install, so it wasnt completely broken in yet either.....i have never personally used boss amps, but after listening to that system i dont feel they are slouches. and btw this was a year and a half ago, and he still has the same exact set-up, seen him the other day and nothing has blown, so they cant be all that bad.....i run a kicker comp 12 and an MTX amp, and i like it. but idk, i would go from the reviews you saw on that specific amp, but also check out crutchfield, you can get a good class D mono amp in the 150-300 watt range for under 200 for your sub, and for your speakers you can get a 4 channel (or two channel, and run each channel down to 2 ohms to run 4 speakers) for under 200 as well, possibly less depending on how much power your speakers need

whenever i get stuff from here, i read the reviews, then i narrow it down to a few different amps in the power range i need, use the compare feature, and compare the features (like frequency response, signal to noise ratio, THD, speaker level inputs, or anything else im looking for) and get the one that fits the bill. hope this helps

Take my subs there for sale for the right price, it would be a complete package. 2 12" kicker comps, rockford amp and custom box perfect for any jeep.

I used a 1400 watt 5 channel Pyle amp. I didn't want to pay the big bucks for Memphis. 250 watts to each of the four corners, and 400 watts to the 10" sub.

I have a pioneer deck and 60w kickers. Not only does it work together but an excellent combo. Just make sure your speakers are 50w or more assuming a 200w stereo or youll get some distortion. Everything works together though.
