hey i have a 1991 xj my problem is that when the jeep starts it shuts off when i use the signal light turn on the blower motor put the jeep in revers ( it is 5 speed ) i have been going through everythin i can think of today while working on it i foudn out i only have power to half my fuse box under the dash and no power to the 15a ingition fuse under the hood also the blue wire from the ingition switch has gone to ground at the fuse box under the hood and the ecm i also have no hot wire to the ingition switch and the jeep wont even turn over no more

any ideas as to what this could be ?

If your turn signals are affecting your ignition circuit and you have lost power to your ignition switch I would look in the steering column for a wiring problem to begin with.

is this recent purchase? This begin after a HEAVY 4wheel session?

Get SHOP manual with DETAILED schematics.

you know how to use OHMETER/Multimeter?

Check for shorts...check for grounds..

use powerful light and even magnifying glass in areas to visual inspect.

inspection mirror also.

Schematics are a good place to begin, and work from what you think as suspect using the schematics as roadmap..

more than likely you have a chafed wire somewhere, or PO did something, or something in steering column opened the insulation on a power wire, etc etc.

i have had the jeep for about a year when this happend it was in july and i happend when i was coming home from a 250 mile road trip i was towing a small boat and i have never had any other problems i went wheeling about 3 days before but just a light trail run in the bush i am just about to say it and slam a 360 and 1ton diffs in it
