Default something goes clunk.

I have a 1990 xj 4.0 with a 3.5" lift as of recent i have been noticing something clunking beneath my my seat. It generally happens when I hit abump in the road or when I slow down or even when I go to turn and the wait of the xj shifts.

I got under to investigate but I could not Figure out what it could be. I tryed to wiggle the transfer case, drive shaft, exahst and some other things.

Maybe some one has had this issue befor and has an idia what it could be.

THANS

Bill McCarthy.....

does it sound more towards the rear under your ***? could be the shock bushing clunking on the bar pins as you hit a bump/corner. go look the upper rear shock mounts and give em a wiggle. if theres movement in the bushing thats probably what it is. look into some bar pin eliminators...
http://roughcountry.com/jeep_xtras_b...liminator.html
will give the bushing the proper preload, gives you an extra 1'' on your shocks, eliminates the weak factory bar pins and makes it way easier to replace your shocks.

no nothing that would make a clunk sound. check your tranny mounts and your engine mounts...could be coming from there.

that would cause a vibration not a clunk. describe the clunk a lil more...does it feel like a suspension clunk or like a something hitting clunk?
