Default So... Snapped temp sensor

I was in the middle of replacing the temp sensor that is on the back of the head on my 93 cherokee and as I was tightening it, the sensor snapped. Would it be better to drill it out or use a bolt extractor set?

Sounds dirty. May need to take the valve cover off to get some extra room

On your 93.... .... on the back?.... I thought it was on the t-stat housing just like later model XJs... on the back I'm not sure..maybe I'm missing something or something has gotten lost in translation here. Or are you referring to something possibly other than the actual temp sensor?
I'm not saying you're wrong... I could be too... just trying to help

thats a bit nasty and you may get only one shot at it

I would remove the valve cover, drill and extract the brass stub, and try not to mess up the threads, or you will have to drill & tap for an adaptor.

Alternative: Drill and tap your, or another thermostat housing to accept that sender, apparently other have done that

At least its a softer metal. If you can get a straight shot at it I'd dry to drill it out. I believe the bore hole is at a slight angle.

True. It's at a slight angle. Left hand drill bit might pull it right out. If not, the use an easy out.

Jeeps prior to 96 and some 96 have the gauge driven by that tiny sensor in back of head. Good luck with that thats a tight fit

my neighbor lent me his extractor set but after tapping it in, it didn't want to judge so I just let off and haven't messed with it in a few days. Might try easy out and if that doesn't work, ill just try the drill idea.
