Default so was this a good idea?

ok so i have a 1990 xj with those stupid vaccuum lines on the front for the 4wd (forgive my ignorance as to what theyre called) and they were loose and wouldnt stay in so i mixed up some epoxy and lightly ran it around them to kind of seal them in. good or bad idea?

not a good idea, you can get new vacuum lines at any parts store for cheap, if there all hard it will probably crack somewhere on it later anyway

Yeah, not so good. The epoxy will be fine until it cracks then you will have the same problem, plus the clean up/off of the epoxy. I would clean it all off now and replace that vac line.

it's a jeep, if it works, leave it till it goes again. then replace.

Good point. mine has made it from 95 to present on the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" policy. If the lines are epoxied in, might as well wait and see.

BATMAN ROCKS !!!!!!

BTW:
I have been working on Machinery, Auto's, Equipment and Motorcycles all my Life and I have learned that

1, "If it aint broke dont fix it"

and

2, "Murfy's Law"

are in direct contrast with each other !

In other words, Leave it alone but have some replacment line in the toolbox !!

OR... you can get a block off plate, ditch the disco setup, throw in some newer D30 shafts and seals and call it a day.. the Disco system can be a headache! for less then $100 its good riddence!

I actually don't know if I have a vacuum actuated front end but I'm interested to hear more about this. Coach
