smoking pulley
First guess is the alternator has seized. Take a 21 or 22 MM socket on a ratchet and see if you can break it loose. Move it back and forth. If thats it it is time for a new alternator as the bearings are shot.

it is also possible that the bearing in that pulley is seizing and the belt is slipping causing it to smoke.
how's the belt condition? does it look like it's been burning/smoking? does it look shiny?

Get a good flashlight.
Have someone start the jeep while u point the light at each pulley.
You will see one not turning.
Do not put your hands near the pulleys, belt or fans while doing this.
Replace the belt when you replace the defective pulley.
