Front Drive shaft ???
2000 XJ
4.5 RC lift
117,000 mi
1" TC drop.
Splines on slip joint seem worn out/little sloppy.
Would a front shaft from LP/pre 2000 work?
Havent found reasonable place near Flint that will replace just slip joint.
Plus, joint seems extended a bit much

I am almost positive that they are the same length (99% sure). The base part number did not change in 2000, but they did put an AA at the end of it, so it might have changed a little.
It's not really feasible to repair them. The two halves are balanced as a pair, so if you change one you have to pay for a rebalance too, at which point it would be the same price buying new.

I went through a couple of Junkyard driveshafts and finally got smart and bought (2) Tatton Driveshafts for a little over $400 shipped, wouldn't do it any other way again.
Order a Tom Woods, Tatton, Adams driveshaft and don't look back.
Tatton,

I just reread your post missed it the first time 4 1/2" of lift and no SYE??? Can tell you first hand that's a big mistake using a TC drop kit, expect problems. I would not have a new driveshaft built for that right away for sure, as you will another one when the SYE goes in.

Might have posted question a bit different.
Are there any bolt on J.Y. shafts that are a hair (1-2") longer?
Only access I currently have is public library

you can also get away from the t-case drop by running a manual shift crossmember with an auto trans it will give you 1" of drop without putting it on spacers
