If he said both wheel wells then I would'nt have said brakes. He said one wheel well.

does your jeep feel like its lacking power? i know everyone else is saying brakes and i agree with them. And your wheels wouldnt be hot, it would be your calipers themselves since the wheels make no contact with the brakes. I would seriously consider checking the brakes because it can happen and has to me, when i first bought my xj, it seemed to be lacking in power just a little bit, but i kinda just shrugged it off until one day i saw smoke coming from, like yours, my passenger side wheel well and since i was a little lost i pulled over and ended up being stranded until someone came with a trailer to get the heep. Keep in mind, if your brakes are partially locked down and you continue to drive it, it could mess up your bearings.

ok, i think i might have figured it out.
My passenger side caliper seized on me about 6 months ago, i replaced both sides so thats definitely not it. brake pads and rotors are only 1 year old, so thats not it.
My valve cover gasket is basically junk and had about half a turn of play in the bolts holding it down. Its pooling a little oil on my exhaust manifold and it must be burning up and causing the smoke and i think it was the wind making it seem like it was only coming from my pass. side wheel well.

Soooo...looks like ill be replacing my valve cover gasket shortly. Thanks everybody!
