Im looking to buy a lift for my 98 xj. what size lift will keep the jeep economical, because of it being a daily driver, but at the same time be able to do some wheeling on the weekends?
I've looked at 3inch lifts because 31's are priced alright and the kits arent to expensive. i was thinking about this kit. it comes with the wheels and tires as well. good deal?

Steer clear of rustys. Personal experience with them was a nightmare.

I've got the 4.5" and 31's on my daily driver. Going 3" always ends up wanting to go bigger.

i hate rustys but i have to say iv ran their lift that past 18k miles (3 inch lift on 31s) and i can run any local trail and a few trails in jonson valley. itll make you good at picking lines too cuz you have to worry about ground clearance more than a guy with 35s.
for a dd and sometimes wheeling rig a 3 inch with 31s is the way to go. just make sure you get a trac bar to recenter the axle

Yea, well I mixed and matched parts from the start, or you can buy a 3" kit, and just throw in some 1/2" shims on the rear. I tell everyone to go half inch higher on the rear, why? Spring sag over time and acceleration sag. Looks ugly and pisses you off.
