Slow to start skipping at 40mph
Hello All,
I have a 1991 XJ that is my DD. Recently, it's been slow to start. I'll have to try to start it twice before it finally cranks and then it struggles to get going. While driving, when I'm going uphill around 40mph or faster, it start skipping. The RPM's stay where they're at and it just struggles to go up hill and it's jerky. If I try to give it more gas, it doesn't change a thing except for a knocking sound starts from what sounds like at the back of the engine. Any ideas as to what is causing this would be greatly apprecitated.
Thanks for your help.
