Well this just recently started happening, I turn the key it cranks fine and everything sounds fine it just wont start. Although if I turn the key and tap the gas like you would a carb'd motor it starts but is real chokie at first then runs fine. I have no clue what it could be... I have checked all the obvious stuff: Battery, starter, alternator, all connections are tight.

Idle air control valve in the throttlebody stuck? Clogged?
Do you smell gas? Leaky injector(s) flooding the intake?

 

Having to "tip in the throttle" to start can be a symptom of a faulty throttle position sensor.

 

thanks guys! and yes Radi there are fumes coming from under the jeep and a LIGHT smoke coming from under there right as I start it up but then it goes away, Im thinking that is from the crack at the collector. As to tjwalker I will check the tps
