Slow to start
ive got a 1990 cherokee and shes kind of slow to start up. It's always taken a couple of turnovers before she fires but its consistent. I didn't drive it for a while and the other day i went to start it and it started like normal but it turned over really slow. It was two or three times longer than a normal turnover. Is this an electrical problem or a fuel problem? any help would be greatly appreciated!

i had the same thing, it took like 10 seconds for my 1988 jeep to start every time, but when i swapped the motor into a 94, it starts in 2 seconds. i even changed the fuel pump on the 88 the fuel filter, and the injectors...those jeeps with their ****ty computer just tend to take later to start. but change the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, and cap and rotor and that should help a little. good luck.

Mine was doing the same thing, so I replaced the battery and it got a little better but then I drove it 40 miles and shut it off and it acted like the battery went dead and I thought the alternator was the problem but I checked the battery and it was fully charged. The starter was the problem, replaced it and it starts real fast now.

the other thing you can check is your starter. if the brush's are worn or if that paticular starter spins on bearings they may be worn out.
you an get it tested at no charge at your local auto parts store
