Slight Leak - Gasket at TStat Housing
Yesterday when bypassing the heater core I noticed just a very slight leak coming from the gasket on the Tstat housing. The leak was so slight it basically was just a couple of small beads rolling out.
Was wondering if a leak that small could be quickly stopped by applying a tad of Blue RTV Gasket maker right over top of the leak?
While i'm asking, does anyone know the best way to plug the pipes left exposed from the heater core?

Go and pick up a new gasket for a couple bucks, Mine as well put a new thermostat while your there for a few more bucks, Don't half ***** when it comes to the cooling system.. Just my opinion...
As far as blocking the heater core, There are caps you can get for that.. I do not suggest using these caps for plugging water pump side.. Get a heater hose and put a bolt through it with a clamp, The caps always split or rip in a short time and will just cause problems short time down the road..

It is two bolts and a harness... just buy the cheap gasket and replace it. If you have a few extra bucks, put a new T-stat in there as well.
