So today I was driving down the road and my muffler decided it was going to snap off. So no problem I bungied it up and enjoyed open pipes for a little bit. (Although it did do what I'm about to describe after it initially fell off and after I bungied it but just once). Got home and welded it back on. Now as I drive around it almost seems like the trans is slipping when I go from a regular stop back to accelerating, shifts good between every other gear otherwise. Aside from all what I just said I guess the main question is what could have possibly been effected upon the muffler falling off other than the sound of my exhaust.

It's likely coincidental; exhaust doesn't change transmission characteristics. Time to review the basics.
*What is the history of routine transmission fluid changes?
*Have you checked transmission fluid level?
*Any check engine light?
