Well I got kicked off the site for vulgarity for the last week. If anyone cares I ran another tank through and I have final results on two full tanks of gas with the ford XR3E 9F593 A4B. I sell real estate so I showed like 30 houses with the XJ this past week. More than 100 starts and stops. I also reset ECU as instructed right after install. I ran the 1st tank out of gas. It to EXACTLY 20gallons to fill up.. I mean I was clicking the gas pump and got 20 gallons exactly. I went 310 miles or 15.5 mpg.. Awful.. The second tank is the same result but the truck appears to run with better idle. It also has less KICK in the pedal the stock REDONE injectors I pulled out.. For whatever REDONE means from the prior owner who paid 275 to have them REDONE (moron). I conclude I will remove these injecotrs for the following means:

1. Quick LOW temp 70deg ambient Heat Soak issue on injector 3 which was loosely wrapped in dealer insulation. I experienced the issue with much lower temp outside in October. I had no heat soak issue with stock injectors after I wrapped in summer in NYC 100 degree heat!. The guy sold me the truck for 2K.. I mean this truck is MINT clean.. never could figure out the misfire.. In any event, I fear when summer comes these simply will not work.. Or since I wrapped the injector now and tied it off with copper wire maybe it will. Who knows.. Im not happy..

2. Less power with shifting tranny.. I have to now stomp the pedal to get the tranny to kick into a lower gear at 45 to 50 mph. Stock injectors roared and pulled like mad compared to these..

3. Im getting 15.5 mpg.. I drive mostly highway.. However, I have a heavy foot trying just to duplicate the stock injectors power with these units.. I keep hoping that it will get better.. It never did..

My idle is excellent now.. Jumpy before.. However, I seafoamed again wile these new injectors were in because I seafoamed the wrong way the first time.. Now idel is PIN straight 700rpm..

Conclusion, I am BURNING gas like mad.. I was hoping for better idle and better gas. What I got was Less Power, Rich running and burning about same gas as before.

If we are to use NEON 784's or the like then why did Chrysler not put them in these trucks to begin with?? Neons were being made at the same time as these Jeeps.. The engineers at chrysler are morons?

I think all you have, and should do, is rebuild the stock injectors.. they are in these trucks for a reason.. Chrysler did not use 784's.. and the fords I test here are working fine but I have lost power thats fo sure.. They also have no clipnuts..

REMOVE.. just get a rebuild kit for your stock injectors or have them serviced.. They are what works best for the truck.. 4 hole vs 1 hole.. Chrysler decided by fate to use one hole vs 4 hole? Comon.. For the hell of it I might try the 784's.. I would not run lean injectors however on these intakes.. Stupid idea

Well I had my stock injectors pressure cleaned at H & R Injectors in Holbrook NY.. Turns out 2 injectors were out of spec with pin and seat tolerances out of spec.. That being said, I was goign to put them back in the truck.. These Fords are not doing much of anything at all.. Must be something else causing poor gas.. The injector guy, Hanns who is like in his 80's.. Told be to tap out the fuel rail to loosen up dirt.. These fuel rails cause loss of power the more miles appranetly due to dirt and clog..

So i am going to replace the entire fuel system at some point including o2 sensors.. I also found Brand New Boche: 0280155784 injectors for sale at a great price.. Not sure what to do first.. Maybe I should leave it the f alone and drive lol... Gas mileage is crap..

I can't imagine people putting junk yard injectors in there cars with a home cleaning.. thats a bad idea.. At least spend the 5 bucks per injecotor for pressure clean.. I am buying brand new or nothing.. I managed to find the Boche units brand new and cheap..

So I have fords for sale and stock units for 2001 if anyone wants them

I fixed my downshift problem. When installing injectors the Kickdown Cabel must have come unadjusted!! Look at this thread for the free fix.. Now I get better response from throttle and tranny and I get better gas mileage!!

Ford injectors still in the car.. Tirns out two of myu stock units were bad on bench testing? lol..

I just spoke with http://www.mrinjector.us/ Bill.. I bought Filters and O rings for my stock units and for some used injectors Boche 784's that are on the way.. He told me for this style Intake spray pattern is not critical if not relevant at all. Thats why Jeep kept using these injectors that shoot gas like a water gun. Spray pattern is critical in OTHER applications but not on the 4 liter because, according to Bill, this style intake will put gas in a READY mode for use during driving and that gas can SIT inside the motor/ head/ cylynder until its used.. So spray patter is meaningless.. Somehting like this he told me.. Im no motor genius.. These guys have all the rebuild parts for the stock injectors. Anyway, I now have in my possession the fords stated here, I have 2 sets of stock injectors that will be refurbished to new, and I have a set of 784's that Im rebuilding with new rings, filters and caps, I will also be ordering the c4b's. When I am done I will have mileage specs on ALL 4 sets of injectors.. I will run two tanks out on each style to see what gas mileage I get.. When im done the results will be exacting.. Right now im lucky to get 15mpg with these fords Im running as stated in this thread. By the time Im done I will have spend hundreds of dollars to rebuild and buy injectors.. So much so i will begin to sell them off.. I even bought a Jewlry cleaner to clean the tips. lol.. All in the persuit of better gas mileage.. Im starting to spend so much on injectors that I wont make it up on gas..

Buysellny, I see you last posted Oct 2010. Do you have anynew data you'd like to share?
I put Liberty injectors (OE: 53032701AA, 0280158020) in my 89' 4.0L, Auto AW4, NP242 with 4.10 gears and 31" tires. I read another post on here that said they would perform similar to the stock injectors but with 4 holes insetead of one.
I am getting 13mpg city and 18 mpg highway. Not the results I was looking for. I recently found a shop that rebuilds injectors and the guy told me to clean out my stock injectors and put them back in.

I'd appreciate to hear your results with the various injector testing.

To be honest 13 city and 18 highway with 31" tires isn't bad at all for an XJ. The main purposes for the injector "upgrade" has never really been a MPG boost. It's mainly for a better throttle response and acceleration and to smooth out the idle. SOME people get a MPG gain but that was just because they were getting rid of dirty old injectors so cleaning your stock ones may produce the same MPG as an upgrade if that is your only concern.

From the posts I read "buysellny" almost sounds like he works for an injector rebuild place and is trying to scare people out of buying cleaned 4-port injectors and sending their old ones in to get serviced instead.

All this 'seat of the pants' testing is BS. Do it right, Get a wideband 02 sensor and plumb it in to the front pipe and measure your A/F ratios. That is the only way to know if you are rich or lean. Anything else is just picking your ***.
