Simple block question.
Will a 1997 xj 4.0 work with a 2000 xj (head,wiring,sensors, EVERYTHING)????.
I know '97's are distributor and '00's are coil pack so it won't have the bolt thread for the coil packs.
Thanks all and yes, I searched :-)
Tim.

The block will work fine, but you need to use all of the original componates from your motor to the replacement block. Put simply use all the 2000 parts minus block 2000 head included(hopefully a good head if not buy a new casting). good luck This way all ports match etc, etc, your on the right road.(1997 sensors are to differant to work right remember 1997 was the year they did the re-tool to the newer xj's.)

Thanks! Have a new head on right now. Block has a crack and found a '97 block. Just going to get a rebuild kit and start wrenching.
