Default silicone for pumkins

1998 cherokee want to change diff. fluid. Have mobile 1 75/90 synthetic and permatex gray silicone for the diff. cover. Question is the silicone gray ok some people have said to use black. How long do you wait to let it skim? And is 75/90 weight ok or should I go higher weight.

if its the Permatex Ultra Grey it will work great
I like ultra black better

I let dry for 24hr
the thicker it is the longer it needs if its not set and you add oil it will leak
