silencer removal

does removing the silencer in the stock air box do much of anything?
is it bad in anyway, since the charcoal venturi is in with it, which works with the vacuums for the brakes? or should i just yank that bad boy out?

The go Jeep website says it supposedly gives a 2hp gain and a tad better millage with it removed with no ill effects reported

pulled mine, not a noticeable difference per say. but logic says it must help at least some lol. Won't hurt a thing, you're just freeing up the tube some
