It has 217,000 miles on it. had minor front end wreck that damaged bumper and radiator. It needs radiator and radiator tube that goes back to transmission, power steering pump, front bumper, headlights, tail lights and drivers seat. I put a $100 down deposit to the guy to save it for me for tomorrow. He wants 500. but now the problem i have is i have no truck to use to tow it back. I'm thinking about getting a rental truck for $155.00 with a $50 car haul rentals to go get it. Do you think i should still do it. Will it be worth it in the end. I can get all the parts i need to fix it from a junkyard for $480 or less if i pull them myself. so for $1180 i have a 97 cherokee after i put it back together. Is this worth it. or should i just bite the $100

I'm always a little put off by damage of any sort, if it's been in a wreck then any part of metal anywhere could be bent or damaged, but for 500 bucks can't go very wrong and if your planning on fixing it all you'll find anything else that's hiding damage as well. Good luck!

Thanks Everyone!! Yeah I'll go for it! The only thing i noticed besides what i was going to fix is that rear end sag. Is that normal for a second gen. My guess is the shocks are wore out. idk. My first gen didn't have that
The rear end sagging is typical of all Cherokees regardless of year. It's usually the settling of the leaf springs. That is a very good deal for a Cherokee with pretty minimal damage.

Shocks don't have anything to do with vehicle ride height. Shocks only dampen bumps in the road. If the vehicle sits low, the springs need attention.

I say buy it, but check how much a local garage with a tow truck would cost. Or if you know someone with AAA they could have it towed for you for next to nothing (if it's not too far)
