Default Short cut to the heater core

I'm sure that there has to be a reason why nobody has done this but would it be possible to cut a hole through the firewall to get to the heater core as opposed to ripping out the entire dashboard? I'm handy with a wrench and I'm a professional metal fabricator so I have everything I could need to do the job. Thanks in advance.

Well if you think its possible just do it and take photos as you go along then do a write up on it to post so everyone will know what we don't.

Jeep would be hacked to pieces. Core is not directly behind where hoses enter. Engine needs to come out, cut huge hole in firewall, then cut open airbox, also deal with AC core. IDK
The upper and lower dash comes out in large pieces, almost there.

Not possible as in;

It is feasible that we could send someone to Mars right now, but it is not possible that the trip would be too long with no possibility of return.

If you do cut holes in the firewall, you then need to then cut more holes in the HVAC box, and SOMEHOW shimmy the heater core out. Feasible because in theory anything can be done given enough time and stupidity, but not possible because the heater core is sandwiched inside the HVAC box.

See this thread if you want some better ideas;

If I were to do it again, it should only take me 6 hours including a lunch break.

Here's a pic of the inside of the lower half of the HVAC Unit. You can see that the heater core is not in a good place to get at.

The firewall is kinda structural and cutting a hole big enough to get the air box out isn't a good idea.

Quit being lazy and do it the right way. The amount of work to cut the firewall to get it out would be 100x the work as pulling the dash.
Don't be stupid. Do it how it is supposed to be done.
