I'm sure theres a thread for this but i couldnt find one. I'm looking too replace my stock shocks cause there in pretty bad shape. Just curious what you all thought i should go with. KYB's seem to be good and priced right, i am just looking for a good ride until i upgrade with a lift kit. Any input would be appreciated, thanks all.

If your planning a 3" lift why not just go with Shocks capable of it later.
Then your not buying parts twice.
I just changed all 4 on my heep. I went with Gabriel Pro-Guards for a Comanche on the rear and Wrangler on the front.
You have to add the Bar Pin bolt brackets if you go that route from your old shocks.
They will work for a 3" too.

I'm pretty sure most of the shocks i've looked at are capable of being lifted 0-3". I just want some OEM replacements not a pro at mods really.

Stock XJ shocks will be near if not fully extended on a 3" lift.
I measured mine and it turns out to have 3 1/4" front and closer to 3 1/2 on the rear.
the front shocks was 100% extended and the rear would not reach at all.
I bought it like that. It was a project.
Still getting shocks for a 3" lift will be around $50 each, or you can DIY and get them for $25 each. I can do alot of work to save $100.
