Howdy folks,

Any recommendations for decent replacement shocks for a bone stock Upcountry package? Not looking for anything fancy, just an equivalent-to-new shock.

Thanks!

Bilstein 4600. It's a factory length 5100.

Bilstein is always a good choice and a quality shock on/off road.

I've heard that the Upcountry shocks are unmarked Bilsteins...is there truth in that?

Haven't heard of KYB shocks before - any other thoughts on those?

Thanks!

i replaced all 4 on my 97 a few years ago with the mid priced napa lifetime warranty ones. they are just fine for road and moderate off road use. if you are in love with it and do a lot of hard 4 wheeling. then you may want some expensive ones. but for regular use, they are just fine and the ride is decent enough for a jeep where you are not bouncing around to bad.

I run the Monroe sensatrac which is what those are rebranded from and can say without fail more than 2 minutes down a gravel road and they may as well not even be attached anymore

I've been using KYB shocks on my vehicles since the late 70s on back roads or no roads and have never had one fail.

KYB is a good shock but Bilstein is better. Just get the one that fits your budget.

Not really sure KYB's vehicle suspension but they make Yamaha's MX bike suspension and its the best on the market.

I put KYB all around when I re-did my suspension. No complaints.

Good price and fast delivery from shock warehouse also.
