I have a 99 xj with 4" bastard pack lift and 1" shackles with 1.75" spacers and zj coils. I am looking for shocks to complete my project. People on here and around home say JK shocks would work.
My question is do these shocks really work on my XJ. I found stock JK shocks new cheaper than shocks for 4" lift new. Do the JK shocks perform similar to the Rancho shocks. I dont really take it off road too much. It is my DD. My budget is tight but still looking to do things right.
Also who has the best shipping costs for shocks. Rusty's would cost me 35$ for shipping. Not acceptable for me.

JK Shocks will work, but they do need some modifications to fit. BPE's in the rear and remove the steel bushing sleeves. In the front I think you just remove the lower bushing sleeves.
I've used Bilsteins made for a stock JK and they were the proper size for my lift, but were pretty stiff. Just my 2 cents.

I'm running stock JK shocks on mine right now. If you don't have BPE's then you will have to press out the bar pins on your stock shocks, and press them into the front JK shocks. Also have to press out the steel bushing sleeve for the rear ones.
If you want a decent street ride, get the black JK shocks. If you want rough and tumble offroad ride, go for the red ones off of a Rubi.
I got mine for free from a local jeep club member who lifted his JK.
