Default Shock absorber question

I scored some free Monroe matic shocks that supposedly went to a jeep my question is will these work till i do my lift and buy new ones. Monroe matic 1014 collapsed length is 12 1/2 inches and the fully opened length is 19 inches and the diameter is 2 inches. I do some 4x4 with it but nothing crazy. I am just trying to improve the ride till i get the money to trick it out. Thanks Charles

Do they have the correct ends on them? Or will you have to press in the funky forked ends on some of them... That is a pain in the ***** to press those in! Take em' to someone to do if that's the case and you don't have a press.
