does any one have a pic of a hood on there cherokee with washers in it to raise the back up

does it help with the heat in the motor bay and when it rains does it leak in

It does fine in the rain. I spaced mine because I sprayed a blanket on it. And yes it helps a lot with the heat.

im not tryin to highjack this thread but i plan on doin this soon,whats the thickness i should use or how many washers should i use? and anythin else ima need?

I would not use washers. Get a solid piece of metal and use grade 8 bolts. A 1/2" will work fine. I bought mine but I cannot remember from where.

i used washers and have had no issues at all... and i stand on my hood..
i just put washers on the back bolt. i think i used 4 to 5 washers. i also used the factory bolts.. every one will do it a different way you just gotta try it and see what fits you best

Would removing the rubber gasket do basically the same thing?
