Shifting late @ about 3000 rpms
1999 XJ, automatic, 4.0, 4x4
Shifts fine and smooth, just late. Has new fluid and filters, (even new mounts), did the kick down cable reset, still shifts late. Any info is GREATLY appreciated thanks.

TPS comes to mind, along with completing Tip 10 at www.cruiser54.com.

Other than tuning is their a way to make it shift later? With 35s and 4.56 gears mine shifts to early for my driving style, and I always have to give it more throttle to make it downshift, or downshift manually.

You'd have to fool the TCU somehow. Output voltage from TPS, does it increase or decrease the voltage as throttle is opened?
