I bought the jeep with a non stock ****, I put the stock one on that I bought, it won't go all the way down on the threads and it looks almost incomplete? Should there be something under just the **** part? Or should I try like hell to tighten it down all the way?

If your talking about a manual shifter **** then yes... There should be a metal piece that allows you tighten the shifter **** to the piece your missing.
I believe if you tighten the **** you tear apart the nylon in the inside. Stock ***** break really easy so dont recommend it.... If you want a pic of it I can post it. I also have one from a parts jeep parked outside my house. If you wanna pay shipping you can have it. That is if i can find it! haha
