I've got a slight problem. I believe i have vibrations coming from my rear when i start it up, sometimes when its in neutral, stopped at a light, when im on the brake, but not when i drive. It started a little while back and it was just very vague and minimal, now its gotten a little worse and I'm starting to worry. While my Jeep warms up its pronounced and louder, in reverse it continues then when i put it into gear its there slighter, but as soon as i give it gas and move it stops. Does anyone have a suggestions or help?

I'd pull the little inspection plate on the bottom of the bell-housing and check the torque converter bolts.....they can and do loosen. Hope that's it!

The Bell housing wasn't the issue it was secure and fine, which is a good thing. I don't hear any rattling from the shifter at all, its a smooth transition. I actually was working on it the other day and when I'm sitting in the drivers seat and look over my right shoulder diagonally inside the Jeep....That is where i heard the rattle coming from. Almost like the exhaust was rattling but i haven't been able to double check my theory today. What else can you fella help me with.

So is it an actual shaking (like visually seen movement or feel movement) or is it like a rattle?
Also, auto or manual? If manual it could be the throw out bearing

this might not be your problem but if it is happening when your in gear with you foot on the brake and you hear it. listen closely and push down on the 4wd shifter and hold it down to see if it goes away. let me know if it does

It's a rattle, Not shaking I apologize for the miss use of the English. I have an automatic as well. Just like Silver said My case is the same rattling like he described and now it more pronounced, when i drove it the other night it seemed louder than I've heard before. The only thing I've heard that comes close to what it sounds like it the rattling of a heat shield on to of the catalytic converter when its loose (If you know what that sounds like).

My exhaust hangers were secure and didn't move when i got underneath there and shook them. I'm really puzzled to what this noise could be. I stuck my ear down near where the noise and i heard it more and more, its a vibrating shaking, but couldn't place it. I will continue to check it tomorrow.

I had a rattle/metal/metal rubbing from the rear when i bought mine, It ended up being the EXH would rub on the shackle bolt, only here and there, then one day it wouldn't go away. cut about 1/2" off the bolt and hasn't done it since. The bolts where aftermarket, came with the lift is my guess. (It has lift shackles too which probably made it closer)
