Default serpentine belt is destroying itself

It squeels a little bit when it is cold, and sometimes idle, but not a whole lot. Used to be way bad, but I got a new belt on there and tightened it up.
But now it looks like this. I'm thinking that now it might be too tight?
Rubbish belt? I got the cheap Valucraft. Never had a problem with Valucraft on my S10, but maybe here?

Take it off and check all of your pullies. Make sure you dont have one stuck that is rubbing the top of that belt. It looks like it is being scraped across something.

The old one didn't look like that, and who knows how long that was on there for.
Will totally check into that in the morning.

Been working on it all day today and just ran out of light.

Could snow and/or off-roading cause this?

Confirm all pulleys spin freely then get a better quality belt. Valucraft products aren't very good.

Ill check the path, cut it off, check the pulleys, finish installing my thermo (bottom bolt is a pain with the belt on) and slap a new one on.

List just keeps getting bigger for tomorrow.

I'd make sure to check the HB closely for cracked rubber or misalignment between the inner and outer halves and that it's running true.
