Seat belt issues
I have a 96 classic. Trying to replace rear seat belt. I got one of the bolts to start to come off but it got harder as it went. What gives? Is there a nut on the other side? It did have some paint spilled on them, that is the reason I will be replacing them. Is PB blaster the answer?
Thanks

no there is no nuts, they are welded to the body, you may have to use some big vise grips,or cut the head off and drill it out, another thing you can do is hit the head of the bolt to help loosen up any dirt, rust, etc, pentrating oil might work also,if you destroy the threads getting it out just make sure you use a quality bolt and nut with large washers when you put it back together.
I just relized you are working on the ones above the door correct,if so be careful to remove it without destroying the threads, mine is an 89 and does not have the 3 point belts.

then I would just get it out the best you can,if you ruin the threads ,you can use a bolt and nut to replace it if needed,I would use a nylock nut if you do go that way,it will stay tight, the bolt being on the floor you can use some heat on the head of the bolt to loosen it also.
