Default Seafoam

Hey guys, im new to the forum, ive owned a Cherokee before and I recently picked up another one. I'm moving from Maryland to Texas soon and I'm trying to get her ready for the move. I've done all normal repairs. I have 182k on a 88 xj. She runs fine but I'm concerned about what the po has done to it before. I was thinkin about using seafoam but I've heard mixed things. Any comments?

Won't hurt it. Run some seafoam to clean it out.

Yes, use Seafoam. You'll be happy you did.

Where in Texas? Run the foam through the gas or intake?

Run it through both the tank and the intake.

If it aint broke dont fix it !, you said "she runs fine" , so whats seafoam going to do? Don't waist your money/time on that snake oil.

Use it, it does benefit the engine. It works well at keeping Cetane level in gas, run it through the intake. You can even add it to engine oil. Not to mention I have heard that snakes love to have it rubbed all over them.

I agree with you on that but with driving 1700 miles straight, I don't want to break down in the middle of Tennessee.

I'm about to change my oil. Should I just run some sea foam in there for like a day before I change the oil? Sorry to thread jack.

A lot of people will tell you no but i think you'll be absolutely fine. So long as you truly dont leave it in there longer than that. And dont drive more than a couple hundred miles in that day
