I read where you need to stay as close as possible on backspacing to the original (5.5) I want a wider stance and to replace the gamblers with either Cragar v-5's or soft 8's. The v-5's only come in 3.75 backspacing, as far as I can tell from the sites at summit and quadratec. With 3 inch lift and 10.5 tires will I rub with only 3.75 backspacing on the v-5's???

the strongest rim set up is zero offset but you get purity close to that
with 8" rims and 3.75 offset oops I meant back spacing

but with 8 inch rim and 3.75 backspacing, you have .25 negative offset.
but back to the original question, with 3.75 and 10.5 wide tires, you should be ok with stock control arms and leafs.
but go with 12.5 tire and stock parts, you will rub at full turn. but aftermarket tubular control arms will fix that.
sorry mike, not meaning to correct you, i'm sure you know yer stuff. i'm sure it was just a slip. haha

I just don't want to have to trim fenders with this set up. So, you all are saying that with 3 inch lift and V-5's with 3.75 backspacing and 31X10.50's I should be okay?
