Default Sand Dunes + Cold Air Intake

I'm currently running this filter http://www.hdtalking.com/harley_stor...lter_Blue.html
And was wondering if it would be okay to use at the sand dunes? Or would it suck in sand?

Get a pre-filter cover for it just incase. Open filters in lots of dusty dirt and sand can prove bad for the engine.

Something kind of like this..

If you don't feel like dropping the coin on a "real" pre-filter, you can always do like Stu Olson: http://www.stu-offroad.com/engine/air1/air-2.htm
