Default Is it safe to (track bar question)

I had to cut the RE bolt that came with the track bar and now have an identical bolt (grade 8 too) except in coarse thread.

I also got an aviation nut/lock nut.

Can I put washers on either side of the track bar to help it sit straight and ensure that it doesn't move?

Are you talking about the bolt that is goes to the axle? I did the same thing except just stripped the crud out of it. I used washers and it seems to be holding pretty well. I honestly think that fine thread is the way to go so you can make that sucker real tight. Mine loosens up after a while so i have to tighten it every now and then.

Anyone ever have the problem that it makes a creaking sounds when turning?

Ok so the trac bar bolt on top that mounts to the frame is tapered to make sure u get a nice straight and flush fit..(I had to cut the original one to remove it) now I would go to the wardware store and find the corect nut I know all the hardware stores near me carry castle nuts.Just do your self a favor man use the correct hardware that way you dont have to do it twice
