Question is this safe?

im installing my first lift, a 4.5 inch lift over the course of 2-3 days depending on how much time i actualy have and how much time it takes. is it safe to drive with just one end lifted for a day?

do the back and the t/c drop if you have it first, it is the hardest, then the front. you should be okay, just baby it.

i dont think it would be possible. the drive shaft would be angled up. and the back axle would have alot of strain put on it. and i dont think anyone has ever tried this before. but if u happen to try it. i mean. tell us how it goes. =0

how much driving do you need to do? might be best if you get a ride or find a different mode of transport so you have the time do get it all done

I know how it feels, I have had my 3in lift sitting in my garage for 6 months!! between work and the little ones, I am shot and have no time. Heck, even tried to sneak out in the middle of the night to do it, but, I found that sleep, although overrated, is still necessary haha

man... when i did my first lift (3 in) i drove around with the front lifted for like a month before completing it ( was in the army and didnt have time) You would just look funny for a day. Does your new lift come with complete new rear springs? If so your fine... but if not it might weaken your leaf springs u have now if the new lift is an add a leaf.... i had to put another leaf pack in....

ive had mine for about 2 weeks now and its killing me not to put it in.. trying to find time inbetween work and college but there really isnt much. i have no idea how you lasted 6 months, i woulda died. im tryin to take a weekend off from work but its like fighting for a lost cause so the weekdays are my best options between tuesday and thursday, they are really the only days i have time in the morning to do stuff.

i drive mine with the rear lifted and the front is still not done after about 2 months... man college is time consuming. just make sure you angle your headlights if you drive at night. other than that there should be no issues

Just make sure you have ALL the necessary parts sourced and you've done your research about installing all the parts. I Just installed my 8.8, lifted the rear about 3 more inches, and re-geared my dana 30 in 3 days. The most time consuming part (and most frustrating) was finding out I didn't have all the necessary parts and had to make trips to junkyards and auto parts stores.
All in all I got it done and I learned some very valuable lessons! So next time it should go much faster.
If you have everything you need (including a buddy, and some brew) then you should have no problem doing it in 2 or 3 days. have fun!
