Default Rusty's shocks

I found some rusty's offroad shocks on this xj at my local junk yard and they were a little rusty so i gave them a quick rustolem paint job. How can i tell if there any good? And would it be worth it to switch them out with my stock shocks?

I would really check those parts. Like prolly go to the store and see if you can compare it to a new one. If everything checks out i say go for it.

Good shocks are very hard to compress.

Ya just push on it with your hands and see if you can compress them easily or if you struggle

They were good. I went back today and got the front shocks. Since the jeep was in a wreck the shock was bent pretty bad so i left it behind. But would it be ok if put the 2 in the rear of my jeep? and kept the stock ones in front?
