rusty rocker panel fix PLEASE RESPOND
i have a 1998 jeep cherokee classic and have some pretty shot rocker panels. besides that the jeep is in great shape. i just want to get a quick cover up for the rusty rocker panels. i ordered some rocker panel cover ups from jc whitney. but they told me they were fit up only to the 1993 jeep cherokee. i called the jeep dealership and asked what were the part numbers for a 93 and a 98 cherokee rocker panel and they told me they were the same exact part. so i ordered them anyways. is there much of a significant difference between those body styles. i dont care if i gotta have someone rig those bad boys in. so a perfect fit (which jc whitney says they are) doesnt matter to me. as long as they cover up the old rocker panels im happy. does anyone know any other options i have or products that would fit my 98 cherokee to fix this problem. ive tried searching everywhere and cant find any rocker panel covers or slips!

Just search Amazon. Pretty sure there arent lots of people selling rockers for XJ's at $49 a pair. Thats how I found them. They re the metal kind. They seem to be made by a guy with a brake who is good at forming & cutting sheet metal. Im happy with the purchase. $49 bucks WELL spent.
PS: They do not include the back plate. They are the front formed part only, and they could/can be used as fit-overs. Im going to cut out my old ones and weld in these AFTER painting inside and out with a good rust prevention paint and NUMEROUS coats.

Im not going to weld on the actual paint. I know you cant get all of it, but Im going to do my best to try preventative action.
