Rusty coils
I am crushng the numbers trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to get the most out of a 87-93 cherokee. I read some guys are using rusty coils. I wanted to use the 8.5 coils. What else do i need to nstall to get the most out of these?

Well you are going to have to go Long Arm, adjustable track bar, Steering Upgrade, SYE, Driveshaft, 6.5" rear leafs with a 2" shackle. Some beefy shocks that measure out properly, sway bar disconnects, regear and possible a rear axle upgrade. Also some big tires. You will likely also need some frame stiffening. I am sure I left some things out and others will chime in.

Start off by telling us exactly what type of wheelin you plan on doing and so on.. Honestly IMHO 6.5" of lift is overkill..Maybe a nice 5.5" Long Arm lift would be much better for most anything. Plus you will likely need to upgrade your rear end to accomodate larger 33"+ tires..

what okc said... I would just do a 5.5 long arm kit thats what im going to upgrade to and stay there. i mean if you got the money go for big. but for a xj you got to start changin alot to accomodate the lift and tires. for cheap you should just go to RC (rough country) and get a 3.5 inch lift it comes with everything you need in the kit for like 250 or cheaper if you get blocks instead of ful leafs. and just run a nice tire. and then run the **** out of it

I'm gonna agree w/ these guys. I'm at 6.5" and feel it's too tall over my 35's.
If you're going to beat on it pretty hard, just go 5"-5.5" and hack your fenders and you could run 36's. But then you're looking into beefier axles, driveshaft issues, yadda yadda...
You did say cheap, right?
