I had the problem of my 96 Cherokee shutting off when hot. I found that it was the o2 sensor wiring harness had two almost broken wires at the connector. I cut the connector out and hard wired it. Haven’t had a problem since.

So... i also have this problem where 95 xj shuts off at low revs after a short drive. It then won't start again. Engine temp only slightly gets warm.
Tested the crathereafter position sensor and the it not the cause.
It wants to turn over, but something is telling it that it cant.... i need some knowledge please.

If the engine is not turning over the first thing to check is the battery and battery cables

How exactly did you test it?

Does it crank and not start or not crank at all?

Unbolted it and made sure it was making a small amount of vaults, and when the key is turned it makes a sound similar to an air compressor.

It doesnt "go" anywhere. The vehicle would be equipped with either obd1 or obd2 system.

If it sputters when you give it gas there’s a mesh in the gas tank that, if knocked loose, allows debris to obstruct the gas flow. They replaced the fuel pump and lines before discovering it

Checked the fuel pump: no issue.
Checked the gas tank mesh: no issue
Checked the Idle: held off from adjusting until I ruled everything out

- End Result: Wiring. It was the damn wiring
