yeah but it shouldnt be stupid easy to turn by hand should it??? no0t to argue but every where ive read is when they are at operating temp they should lock up after 5 revolutions until cooler air is drawn across.... causing the bimetals to cool off or whatever.

 

You are correct. With a good flick of your hand it should turn 1/4 revolution or so. I think you got a POS.

 

yeah i went to napa and got the 272310 model will put in on after the jeep cools off.....
